The Pope's exorcist Father Angelo Marconi had used his supernatural powers in one of many battles.
This most recent battle took him to the supernatural center of Rome, a city where every stone and shadow spoke of the past. The Vatican had become concerned by frightening reports of insidious spirits in an old church that had been residing there for countless years, but in reality this old Vatican church had fallen victim to a series of baffling events. St. Scribe Maria delle Lacrime had been the site of two mysterious deaths and several disappearances over the past eight months. Reverend workers had given detailed accounts of strange occurrences, unusual movements, sensational temperature drops, and the near certainty that the church was home to harmful ghosts that had grown more frequent over the past year. Alarmed by this unexpected phenomenon and desperate for help, neighboring priests had begged the Vatican for help, and the Pope had sent Father Marconi to investigate. Santa Maria delle Lecrime Father Marconi's investigation began that evening unique discovery. When they arrived there after some sightseeing church stood in front of them. Its ancient statue was dilapidated and stained. Inside church, air of dread lingered. Father Marconi felt pressure being put upon him. It was as if the walls held memory of every soul that had passed through its doors. He began his investigation by speaking to remaining members of congregation. They shared stories of apparitions witnessed in church. There were shadowy peaks. Overheard whispers came from nowhere. Sightings of terrifying figures emerged. Father Marconi listened carefully. He paid attention to every detail.
The First Encounter, One night as Father
Marconi was praying in the church he heard strange eerie whisper. He followed the sound to altar. There he assessed a shadowy peaked peak. As he approached the shore he walked to top. A snarling voice of malice followed him. Determined to uncover truth he dove deep into history of church. He discovered that Santa Maria delle Crimoime had been built as ancient Roman temple dedicated to Pluto god of underworld. The church was site of profane rituals. It also held human sacrifice. It seemed that evil spirits had never been seen. By degrees church absorbed dark energy. Now it was manifesting from terrifying universe. Father Marconi was preparing for the exorcism, but he discovered that he was facing a formidable foe. With holy water, a crucible, and his unwavering faith, he began the exorcism process. He read prayers. The temperature in the church dropped dramatically. Shadows danced on the walls. The whispers grew louder. They became even more insistent.
Suddenly a force threw him to the ground. He felt a cold hand grip his throat.
