King Hardaul
There is an old kingdom named Orchha in Bundelkhand. Its king is a Bundeli. Bundelas have spent their lives in the valleys of the mountains. Once the king of Orchha was Jujhar Singh. At that time Delhi was ruled by Shahjahan. Then Lodi attacked and proceeded towards Orchha looting the royal country. Then King Jujhar Singh fought with him. Shahjahan was very pleased with this act of the king. He immediately handed over the rule of the south to the king. That day great joys were celebrated in Orchha. The royal messenger came to the king with Khilaat and Sanad.
Jujhar Singh got the opportunity to do great work. Preparations for the journey began. Then the king called his younger brother Hardaul Singh and said, "Brother, I am leaving. Now this kingdom is in your hands. You too love it with all your heart. Justice is the greatest helper of the king. At the time of justice no enemy can enter, whether he comes with the army of Ravana or with the power of Indra, but true justice is that which the people also consider as justice. Your job will not only be to do justice, but also to make the people believe in your justice. I have to achieve this for you and what should I explain to you! you yourself are intelligent."
Saying this, he took off his turban and placed it on Hardaul Singh's head.

Assembly Palace of the King |
Hardaul, crying, clung to his feet. After this, the king came to the palace to bid farewell to his queen. The queen was standing at the door and crying. As soon as she saw him, she fell at his feet. Jujhar Singh picked her up and hugged her and said, "Dear, this is not the time to cry. Bundela women do not cry on such occasions. If God wishes, we will meet soon. Keep loving me like this. I have handed over the kingdom to Hardaul. He is still a child, he has not seen the world yet. Keep helping him with your advice." The queen's tongue became silent, she started saying in her mind, "Alas, Bundelas say that women do not cry, perhaps they do not have a heart or even if they do, they do not love"! The queen swallowed her tears with a heavy heart and started looking at the king with folded hands, but what a smile it was. Just as the light of a torch in a dark field makes the darkness even more unfathomable, similarly the queen's smile was revealing the deep sorrow of her heart. After Jujhar Singh left, Hardaul Singh started ruling. In a short time, his justice and love for the people won the hearts of the people. People forgot Jujhar Singh. Jujhar Singh had friends as well as enemies, but Hardaul Singh had no enemies. Everyone was his friend. He was so cheerful and sweet-spoken that whoever talked to him remained his devotee for life.
There was no one in the kingdom who could not reach him. The doors of his court remained open for everyone day and night. The kingdom had never got such a beloved king. He was generous, loved justice, admired knowledge and virtues, but his greatest virtue was his bravery. That virtue had reached its limit. Rakhi, the caste whose life depends on the sword does not trust any quality of its king as much as it trusts his bravery. Hardaul became the king of the hearts of his subjects with his qualities, which is more difficult than ruling over a country and wealth. One year passed, while in the south, Jujhar Singh established royal authority everywhere with his management and here in Orchha, Hardaul cast his spell on the subjects.
It was the month of Falgun.

Arora |
Old in appearance but young in work, never underestimate anyone, his manly gait used to put the youth to shame, words of bravery were coming out of everyone's mouth, the youth used to say that let's see whether Arora's honor is saved today or not, but the old people used to say that Arora has never lost and will never lose, seeing this enthusiasm of the brave, Raja Hardaul said in a loud voice, beware, whether Bundela's honor is saved or not, but his reputation should not be tarnished, if anyone gives others an opportunity to say that the other 6 could not win with the sword, then they have rigged the match, he should consider himself an enemy of the caste, the sun had risen, suddenly the drum was played and hope and fear jumped in the hearts of the people and reached their mouths, Kal Dev and Qadir Khan both wearing loincloths entered the arena like lions and hugged each other, then swords came out from both sides and went into the armpits of both. Then the cloud burst into two pieces. Lightning started coming out of it. For three hours it seemed as if there were two embers.
Thousands of people were standing and watching the spectacle. And the ground was as quiet as midnight. Yes, whenever Kaldev used his knotted hand or dodged a dangerous attack, people would automatically raise their heads. But for the spectators, there was an even bigger spectacle outside the arena. Controlling emotions for the sake of caste prestige and not letting words of happiness or sorrow come out of the mouth was a more difficult task than dodging the sword attack. Suddenly Kadikha shouted Allah Hu Akbar, as if the clouds thundered and as soon as it thundered, lightning struck Kaldev's head. As soon as Kaldev fell, the patience of the Bundelas gave way. A picture of weak anger and broken pride was drawn on everyone's face. Thousands of people ran towards the arena in enthusiasm. But Hardaul said, beware, no one should move forward now. This voice was acting as a chain for the feet. When they stopped the audience and went inside the arena and saw Kaaldev, the injured lion was lying on the ground with tears in his eyes. He was writhing in pain, his sword had broken into two pieces and Kaaldev had been defeated.
